  • Chandra Namaskar, also known as Moon Salutation, is a yoga sequence of poses that work mainly with hips opening and it has many benefits.

  • The moon's light and its regular cycles have influenced how humans have lived their lives.  The moon influences various physiological and psychological systems.

  • The moon has long been credited with the power to inspire intuition and creativity and stir up powerful emotions. The days of the Full and New Moon It has also been linked to madness and aggressive behavior, therefore, we can injure ourselves. It is recommended to avoid the practice of yoga asanas those days and instead practice pranayama, bhakti yoga chanting devotional songs, and Meditation.

  • The practice of Moon Salutation helps to balance the Ida nadi, the feminine energy, and offers benefits like promoting calmness, enhancing intuition, fostering creativity, balancing emotions, and activating the parasympathetic nervous system, leading to relaxation and stress reduction, particularly when stimulated through breathing through the left nostril (Chandra Bhedana pranayama).

  • Have you ever practiced Moon Salutation? It starts on the left side of the mat, and the sequence moves side to side instead of forward and backward like the Sun Salutation, which awakens the masculine energy Pingala Nadi. The flow side to side of Chandra Namaskar helps us to develop more patience when things are going slow in our lives, and it is required to wait in order to advance later.

  • It has feminine-like qualities and can help you channel lunar energy, which is said to be cool, relaxing, intuitive and creative.

  • Practice at evening, to release the tension of the day, and then sit for Meditation to integrate the experiences of the day before going to bed. Here are some of the benefits of Chandra Namaskar: - Helps to pacify excess heat (pitta) and bring harmony to an overactive mind (vata) providing a sense of equilibrium and tranquility. - Helps with blockages in lower chakras. - Strengthens muscles and joints. - Improved intuition. and creativity - Ensures a better functioning of your urinary and reproductive system. - Helps combat insomnia. - Improves hips flexibility, strength, and stamina. - Stretches' the legs and hips. - Improves posture, strengthens spinal cord and abdominal muscles. - Balanced mind and emotions.
